About these scholarships
We offer the 香港伦理 International Scholarship to support our international students and make a positive impact on your studies. We are committed to ensuring that studying your degree at Brighton will help you to pursue a successful future career.
Scholarships will be awarded at £2,500, £2,000 and £1,500 levels and those applications we assess as best meeting the criteria will be awarded the higher amount. These scholarships are awarded as a reduction in tuition fees for the first year of study.
Please submit your course application via UCAS first. You can then submit your scholarship application through the form in the ‘Submit an application’ tab, please complete all fields.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible to apply you must:
- be a new, international fee-status student
- be holding an offer for a full-time undergraduate taught degree with a minimum course duration of one year
- be starting your course in September 2024.
You will not be eligible if:
- you are a student at any 香港伦理 partner colleges or affiliate institutions (including 香港伦理 International College)
- you are an applicant for Brighton and Sussex Medical School
- you are receiving sponsorship from your government (unless you are a Lanekassen Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund student, Swedish CSN Loan student, US Federal Aid student or Canadian educational loan student).
How to apply
International scholarships will be awarded based on your answer to the following questions:
- What are your career ambitions?
- Why have you chosen this career path?
- Decisions about scholarship awards will be made by an awards committee and are final.
- Applications that are not fully completed will not be reviewed by the panel.
- Only one scholarship application per student will be considered for September 2024 entry.
- Applications that have used AI to generate statements will be rejected.
- Please note, you will need your 8-digit student number for the scholarship application. This can be found in under ‘your student record’. If you don’t include this number correctly on your scholarship application, the application will not be processed.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use my scholarship for other means? eg housing
The scholarship can only be applied as a reduction to your first-year fees.
Can I appeal the decision of the panel if I am unsuccessful?
Our scholarship rounds are highly competitive and decisions by the panel are final.
I was awarded a scholarship last year but was unable to enrol at the university due to exceptional circumstances. Can I have the scholarship applied to this year now that I can enrol?
We will need to assess your case individually and confirm that you were awarded a scholarship. We will also need to check with our finance team that you have paid your deposit payment in time for this year.
I have deferred my enrolment, can I use my scholarship for next year?
You will not be able to defer your scholarship to a different intake or academic year. You can apply again next year, please keep an eye on this webpage for more information.
Will the scholarship reduction be reflected in my CAS?
Yes, provided you have accepted your offer on Student View, you have paid the tuition fee deposit and applied for your CAS by the deadline.
What happens if I secure both the International Office scholarship and Vice-Chancellor scholarship?
You can only be in receipt of one scholarship. If you qualify for both scholarships, the higher of the two awards will be applied automatically to your application.
I've been awarded a scholarship for September 2024 entry. What do I need to do next in order to receive the scholarship?
- Accept your offer on or
- Pay your tuition fee deposit
- Apply for your CAS by the deadline
When will I see the scholarship deducted?
The scholarship will be applied after 31 October, provided you have paid 50% of your tuition fee by the 31 October deadline. Your payment will be 50% of the total fee amount before the scholarship has been deducted, for example, if your tuition fee was £15,900 and you were awarded a £2,000 scholarship, you will need to have paid £7,950, inclusive of your £5000 deposit (if required).
You will not see your scholarship reflected in your fee anywhere before 31 October. If you have a payment plan in place to pay your tuition fee by credit/debit card, the Finance department will update your plan with the new figures after 31 October and email a new schedule to you where you will be able to see that your final payment instalment has been reduced.
